Myster Science Theater Live

has anyone gone to this "mega bad movie" thing at the academy of the natural sciences? it looks pretty amusing. i want to go to the march one. $15 is a little steep, but it seems fun.

I would DEFINITELY be into this. Big-time fan of laughably atrocious movies (and MST).

Thanks for the heads-up!

I was just down in Wilmington a few weeks ago to see the "Cinematic Titanic" on tour. It was most of the original cast making fun of a bad movie, though not in character. Absolutely hilarious still.

Part of me is still annoyed that "Syfy" canceled MST so they could make crap like Sharktopus.

We were going to go to the one New Years Eve, with the original cast and all, but it was like $125 a ticket, so we quickly forgot about it.

But without movies like "Sharktopus" there would have been no MST3K!

I went to the Cinematic Titantic at the Kes about a month ago. It was fantastic. One of the funniest things I have seen it years. The movies they had picked out were such amazing duds. After a few minutes I did not even notice them on stage and totally felt like I was watching MST3K. I highly recommend it.

The crowd was great. They were all such geeks. I ran into about 20 people I had not seen in years.

How often do you have to replace the "I" key on your computer?

A good friend of my wife and me works at the Academy and has roped us in to going.

It's basically like MST. Also, free food and beer beforehand, so $15 for a movie, snacks, and a few beers. Not too bad, IMO.

Who do you know that works at the Academy?

P.S. MST is streaming on Netflix.

ah, didn't know it involved free beer and snacks. that makes the price pretty reasonable.

I've been to a couple of the Mega Bad Movie Nights (missed the latest one since the tickets sold out). I definitely recommend them. The worse the movie, the funnier.
