Earlier today the Ohio school shooters Facebook page was released and he recommended Vanessa by Grimes with a link to a youtube video. I wonder when Grimes will be blamed for causing the shooting. Probably never. Cause its not heavy metal. If he had ANYTHING on that page that was the least bit heavy, you know darn well it would be front page news and be blamed.

I haven't seen anything in
I haven't seen anything in the news that proves this kid was really being bullied. I'm not saying he wasn't, I'm saying I haven't seen anything other than one quote, from one kid, who said he thought he was being bullied. I did read, that one of the kids that were murdered had just started dating the shooters ex-girlfriend. What is documented, are the multiple accounts of spousal abuse perpetrated by his father and his parent's recent divorce, which point to a pretty terrible home life.

Regardless of that though,
Regardless of that though, kwhln215, I agree with you. When bullies are caught, there need to be stricter punishments to protect the children. And on top of that, teachers need to be better trained to identify when a child may be being bullied. I think all too often teachers just attribute acts of bullying to kids being kids, without stepping in the shoes of the bullied to understand what they may be feeling inside.

If he was a heavy metal fan
If he was a heavy metal fan there would totally be an easy answer. How many times has the music been blamed in the past as an easy answer to violence, anti social behavior? Now that they can't blame it on that the so called expert won't be able to figure it out.

Oh, I think the "so called experts" are aware of other root causes. I don't think heavy metal music is universally perceived in the negative light that you keep representing it in. The thought that its this evil dark thing that is totally misunderstood is kinda passe.

edit: there was the whole finnish black metal thing with the burning churches, but in all honesty some of those bands were promoting church burning. you can't really get too upset about them being blamed as part of it.

Yep, 1982. This was after about 4 minutes of searches.
The church burnings were in Norway. From Norwegian black metal bands that were devil worshipers. Its not my cup of tea. One of the biggest groups in Norway's lead singer was to blame for I think almost all of them. He viewed it as his own personal crusade to burn churches in and around Oslo. I think he is a devil worshiper first and a musician about a hundred and first. He has been interviewed on many occasions and does not seem very bright but rather just a criminal.

Rap music, as far as I know,
Rap music, as far as I know, has never been accused. Certainly not to the level of metal. I have heard of people trying to ban rap IE 2 live Crew, NWA and body count (although they were actually more metal). But no rap artist has ever been on trial for their lyrics "causing" someone to do something. Its only ever been metal.
If you are referring to the Headbangers Journey documentary, its not that great cause they don't spend enough time with him. That doc almost gave what he did credence cause of the little time they spent on him. Black metal, to me, is so silly anyway. I was in Norway about 2 years ago and I went to a few record stores to check out the black metal. Alice Cooper said it best. Its all so much like Spinal Tap to the point that its silly. But the names of the bands and songs are good for a laugh.

Black metal just isn't for me
Black metal just isn't for me. Not a fan of the vocals more than anything else. And the beats just don't do it for me either. I think that the talent level isn there either. Its more for schlock than anything else. A lot of metal is a dog and pony show, I know that and some of that is what attracts me in the first place but Black metal is just soooo over the top that it seems silly to me.
By the way, I think it has now become apparent to most everyone that Rush Limbaugh hates women. Many have said that in the past but now it is obvious that the guy is a woman hater. Probably cause he is a disgusting fat slob and no woman wanted him before he got money. Course that probably makes him hate women even more. He has become obsolete anyway. He is probably loving the publicity. Would be better if we all simply ignored him.
