i have no idea what to call it but there's a new round sign for the rivers/riverfront — i saw "Shackamaxon" under the wrapping and what looked like river lines — on the bump out at the corner. all i can think of when i see it is another vehicle for the Making Time/roller derby/wheat paste graffiti that all the Kool kids put up.
along with the second round of trees, this looks to be a finishing detail for the revitalization. i don't see another one on any other corner at this time.

We saw that thing this
We saw that thing this morning. It seemed to still be wrapped up. We thought it was a giant hot water heater. We are a little slow in the a.m.

What about sign for the east
What about sign for the east side of Girard, the stumps there with wiring in place, are they not doing that one now? As for the finishing touches, its so lame how the tree pit cut outs are all different, They should have made them more uniform.

They are (supposedly interactive) decorative light sculptures serving as a gateway to the Delaware River via Penn Treaty Park. A project that the NKCDC with input from other local civics to continue to develop the relationship of our neighborhood to the Delaware River. Not sure when the official unveiling will be.
