i don't remember but did we ever disscus those horrible things on Frankford Ave, the ones that have FA at the top? To me, they are a hugh waste of money that could have been put to better use. I think both the banners and these pillars may have been good ideas on paper but really suck in reality.

Complete waste. Big metal steel columns ripe for tagging. They remind me of all the wasted money installing metal palm trees up in little Puerto Rico (York st.?)
Fake metal palm tree's? Really? How about a real tree? Someone go a kick back on that deal.

Are you talking about Calle Oro or whatever it's called up there in lower Juniata? It's not far from the Coke bottling plant, can't remember if it's really Fairhill over there or what.
Avenue de oro is 5th st. from lehigh to aleghany with the gold sidewalks and steel palm trees!
Yes! That's it. What area is that? I call it little Puerto Rico, but never new real name.
Driving around that area is surreal.
The thing is... every time I go through there... there's very little Puerto Rican about it. To me it's like Saigon before it fell. It's such a strange place. Definitely one-ups Chinatown.
