On that note ... what about the Rec Center?

Forums:

I really don't know the answer to this: Why is the Rec Center not locked up at night?

So the neighborhood kids don't leave empty beer cases laying around to be cleaned up the next day.
(Difficult for the police to keep an eye on the place, you know, its sooooo far away from them.)

I can honestly say 2 weeks ago was the first time sober in the rec center , now I understand the the reason they call it the "WRECK"

Yeah, it was pretty much just a safe place to hang, get drunk or high, for most of the neighborhood youth who partook of that type of thing, for years. But it always left a mess to be dealt with the next day when the daycare people showed up.
Of course, this was back when the cops swam in the swimmo at night, with the cases of beer they've confiscated around the area.

Do we need to hold a break dancing contest to save the Rec, because that's what I was hoping this thread was going to be about.

Seriously ... why isn't it locked up at night? Like at 10 pm?

Because of the kids who sometimes drink in there, the cops aren't going to climb a fence to go after them.

I'd be happy with a karaoke contest to get the wall at the hockey rink put back up.

You can steer a car with your feet, but that does not make it a good idea.

Oh, so sorry, I misread the question. I thought it WAS locked up at night. I kinda assumed it was after all this time... its always been a place to hang.

Dan

The building is locked at night, but not the rest of the property.

Now, can we get back to the break dancing contest?
