I warned you it was coming.
Well, the last two weeks haven't been the most impressive. Overall I've lost one pound. However, given the astounding number of parties, luncheons, and dinners I've been to, I'll consider that a win.

I've lost 5 lbs.! All came off this week and I'm not sure how. (Although have been making daily trips out carrying like a 20 lbs. baby carrier and she's doing this new thing called napping so I can run through the house and get stuff done.)
So I'm down 31 lbs., 27 more to go!

Well, I'm afraid that I haven't lost anymore. However, I'm still going to claim victory given we crossed Christmas and I haven't put a ton on.
Hopefully I'll have some losing to report next week.
In the meantime, here's some encouraging/discouraging news:

For anyone interested in
For anyone interested in losing weight I'd recommend the documentary Fat Head. It has been available on Hulu and Netflix streaming, although I haven't checked lately. I have struggled with my weight all my life, and this movie made a huge difference. I recommend it to everyone who is interested in losing weight and avoiding health problems.

Looked at some summary for "Fat Head". Apparently a pro-Paleo piece, correct?
Paleo definitely interests me, and while I probably won't go full-on Paleo, I've been making dietary modifications that go in that direction. It combines a lot of the things that work for me.

Okay...so, I've manned (womaned?) up and joined Weight Watchers. I said I was determined to not still be wearing maternity clothing in the Spring so I have to get to it. One pound every few weeks isn't going to get 27 lbs. off anytime soon! On the positive side, I've lost the weight I gained back over Christmas. I also found one more pair of pants I fit in! Yay! I also attended a yoga class with the kid...while it was fun for the both of us, I'm not sure how "calorie burning" it really was.

Ugh...we followed up the holidays with a week-long trip to Boston where we stayed in a hotel and ate out for every meal. I was not one of those lucky ladies who lost baby weight through nursing, so here I am...still needing to take it off.
Anyway, I'm back to my regular routine and ready to do this. Since I'm sure Planet Fitness is going to be jam packed with New Years resolutioners for the next few weeks, I figured I'd finally make some use of the Wii Fit that we've had for a while but never use. Does anyone have any favorite Wii Fit, or just plain Wii, games that they use for exercise?

It pains me to use the terms
It pains me to use the terms paleo and primal because they are so lame, but does anyone here follow that "lifestyle"? We have done a ton of research on it and what we've found indicates that this way of eating would help resolve a number of issues for us. We are just trying to figure out logistics, budgets, etc. If anyone has any insight (unless you want to lecture me about the importance of carbs - not interested), I'd love to discuss!

Everyone who's losing weight
Everyone who's losing weight could you please stop? I keep finding it! My thighs look like 40 solid pounds of cottage cheese. I don't have one vein that isn't varicose. I just sit down to pee as the logistics of making that happen have become down right impossible. I think I'm wearing underwear but can't be exactly sure since my thighs have a habit of just eating them. I walk around with an I.V. in my arm for insulin delivery. It was just too many needles to do it the other way. I need to clip my toenails but I can't get to them. I walked up to my third floor last Tuesday and haven't had the energy to go back downstairs yet. I can't even weigh myself because my chubby feet cover the whole scale when I step on it. My cat doesn't even recognize me. I thought she was showing me affection by licking me but it turns out I just taste like salt and sugar. I think the flies are what help me figure that out. Long story short, things are not good.
