Phila. Union Season Ticket Holder?

Is anyone on here a Phila. Union season ticket holder?
If so, are you going to the All Star game?
If not, please PM me and I would be more than happy to buy your tickets.
Thanks.

i am a season tix holder though i plan on going to the game.
no one currently assigned to the other ticket.

date?

FYI, don't want to rain on your MLS All Star parade, but the timing for it is questionable as we won't likely be seeing Becks and others:

I split season tix with 2 other gentlemen, but if we end up deciding not use them for the ASG I'll let you know.

If the Union played a little closer, I'd probably go fairly often. Still would like to, though.

That said, what's up with them 'selling' their leading scorer for no apparent compensation other than cash? Maybe I'm wrong, but that doesn't exactly send the best message about their commitment to winning. Am I missing something?

i hear you on the distance. not having a car, i found the distance to be prohibitive. however, i'm diving in this season and will find a way to get there, rather than use it as an excuse like i did for the last 2 seasons.
as for LeToux and Mondragon, i thought we'd get an investment with LeToux. sell high and invest in younger, cheaper talent. i'll miss him. hard worker. not happy he's going to Vancouver. Mondragon evidently was a surprise and they don't want to lose the Columbian connection for future talent.
we'll know early if this season will be a wash or if the Union take a page from the Flyers book and ride the young talent into the postseason.

There are differing opinions on it but the best that I can tell is:

- Le Toux requested a 300% raise & contract extension (both well-deserved)
- the UK team Bolton requested a trial with Le Toux with possibility of transfer (aka big $$ for the Union)
- he didn't really want to go so he kinda half-assed it & left the trial early due to a minor toe injury
- the trial was unsuccessful (not surprisingly)
- the team/coach got furious that he put his own interests in front of the team's and shipped him out when they got a decent Plan B offer

The way the team dealt with the trade was pretty classless, especially since he'd largely been responsible for the team's early success, but I guess I can also see where they felt he'd overstepped his bounds by semi-sabotaging the transfer. Who knows what really happened, though.

I know much more about this than I did 10 minutes ago, that's for sure. Thanks for the info.

(and good luck Sunday, ronchito. As a Dolphins fan, I needn't explain my feelings about the Patriots---but 'loathe' would be a starting point)

related note: for anyone interested in a pair or a single, let me know. not sure what will be available but i'll post them here rather than stubhub if anyone wants to catch a game. most of the folk i know have at best a passing interest in the Union and aren't city dwellers. that 90% of the games are on a weekend help get the 'burbs folk down to a game. the expanded tv coverage this season will hopefully contribute to a growing fan base. it sucks watching them on CSN in low-def.

Thanks! Definitely hoping for a repeat outcome of the most exciting Super Bowl I ever watched.

Just be careful when it's the last play of the game, but the scoreboard says only 3rd down.

Sincerely, a Maryland girl. :)

I was talking to a guy who works for the Union yesterday, and he told me that the last All Star game had like 70,000 people attend, but the stadium only holds like max 18,500. After the players get tix, and the sponsors get tix, there are just about enough for the season ticket holders. I'm not a season ticket holder, but just looking to snag a pair.
I don't think they're gonna announce the date until after they announce the team.

The date's been set for July 25 @ 8 pm. I'll let you know if we opt out after we divy up our ST's.
