On Thursday while I was at work the construction crew building the house next door to mine took down part of my fence without notifying me. When my roommate came home he let my dogs in the yard and they both got out. We found one but we can't find the other. While I was putting up signs a woman at Rocket Cat suggested I post on here and from what I can see you guys are pretty good at this so if you could keep an eye out for my dog I would appreciate it greatly.
Name: Sasha
Female pit mix
White with brindle markings
3 years old
Long tail/ erect ears
Spayed
About 50 lbs
Last seen at fletcher st and coral st. in east kensington on Thursday night.
Please call with any information 267-303-5700 or 215-688-0477
Thank you,
Patty
I have updated this to include pictures (i couldnt get them to post from my phone) (and I corrected the obvious spelling mistakes which i am going to attribute to autocorrect)

So I just got a call from a blocked number and someone said they had her in their house. I asked them to send me a picture so I would know it was my dog, which they said they would, and I asked for their number. So far no picture and the number doesnt work. There are no words to sufficiently express my rage right now.

I'm really sorry to hear
This one isn't as nicely formated as the lost cat post but it's got rescues all on one page. Fingers crossed.
-------
I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. I hope the information I compiled below will help you find him. I know how overwhelming finding your dog can be. You may or may not have done them already.
There is lots to do! There is no guarantee your animal will make it onto the same Internet sites you go to or that people will do anything other than post "found dog" instead of searching for your "lost dog" posting. It’s a tool - you have to use it.
Be aware it sometimes takes a month or two or three for your dog to show up online - so keep looking for longer than you'd think. Especially when it's getting cold out - they tend to pop up when it gets very cold - so still look and post then.
You're the person who wants them back the most and your perseverance is your biggest asset in getting your dog home again.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Keep an eye on this site on facebook - go to their photos page: It's the only place you will see the most in-danger animals at Animal Care and control of philadelphia, which is the high-kill shelter, and where strays are brought.
Animal care and Control (known as Philly Urgents Page): http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=196737460358855
Make sure you give them a lost/found poster. Make sure you give one to ACCT and to PAWS as well.
To do:- Posters: Putting large colorful photo posters in nearby convenience stores, vet offices, dog parks, pet stores, telephone poles and posting in the local newspaper and online message boards might help her get home. Make sure your neighbors are aware of your lost pet. Put smaller version of the poster in their mailboxes -- as well as the corner stores if possible. It's supposed to be one of the best things to do.
- Put in a lost report at spca.
- If you can go walk around pspca and the animal control shelters - including isolation/sick areas -- and look at all the animals yourself. There really is no substitution for this, if you go to the websites below you'll see many blank photos for animals listed.
- Search terms I use are "missing dog" "lost dog" "stray dog" and I ALWAYS search under "dog" and also "found" and if one color is dominant I may just search by that color. Sometime by area of town.
- People aren't consistently or decently descriptive online. Most postings say dog. Some say the breed but people get that wrong all the time. So will search a couple of different ways per site
- If you think your dog is still around your area, put something that smells like their favorite person outside, every day and that will give them a clue where you are - their noses are very b and the wind will carry the scent.
- Always put an email on your ad - create one for this purpose, not just a phone number. If an animal is spotted online, they won't want to call you. (for example, I hate calling people for a find that could or could not be your animal unless I was sure - and it's tough to be sure from a photo! But I would send you the information and let you decide if a photo is a match.)
- Use flickr as the place to put a photo ( if you can't post a picture to every site) and make sure you include it. Photos are ridiculously important. You'll get a look instead of a skim or a skip - people will be more able to help you.
Networks that help you - free (I think) - def worth it: More eyes looking for your animal is a good thing.

NON FACEBOOK SITES
Pet search engine - try it. http://www.akekee.com/
Bucks/montgomery/+county alive pets directory:
http://doylestownalive.com/pets/index.cfm?webname=dalive
Search for Breed rescues in the Tri-state area
Social media - twitter, consider creating a facebook page, post to lost cat facebook pages - get visible.
Site that help you but cost money - large network - probably worth it:
www.FindToto.com has a calling service that calls neighbors faster than you can put posters up.
HomeAgain is a microchipping service but has lost found service. Homeagain sends out flyers and also lists some animals on their website - I would check them out - although you'll download pdfs in order to see the postings
petamberalert.com send emails out in their network (which is active)
Look up a Pet detective - they do good work and use a dog to track your dogs scent.
Also:
whats your neighborhood community website? post and search there.
POST AND SEARCH on these sites or as many of the places below as you can:
Remember most of the sites expire - so repost repost repost if you can. If the ad is old, the animal is sometimes assumed found or not wanted anymore.
Keep your ad current on lostandpound, petfinder and flealess classifieds lost. findtoto.com too, only if you upload a photo. (ALWAYS upload the photo) People look there, and other than petfinder, they don't seem to expire. :)

So apparently about a week
So apparently about a week ago she followed someone from Norris Square Park to their neighborhood around 6th and York and once she was up there she went up to another family while they were walking their dog and that family took her in. That familiy later saw the flyers up at the Berks stop and called us last night to come get her.
