African Dance with Anssumane Silla

Tuesday, August 7, 2012 - 6:00pm

Explore African dancing and drumming through the sounds, music and drum rhythms of the regions from five ethnic groups in Guinea Bissau; the Fula, Balanta, Bijagos, Manjaco, and Felupe. These indigenous dances demonstrate life's journey and celebrate many lessons of learning about freedom, joy and love often performed on festive occasions. Combine this cultural experience with your exercise regime this summer and discover the roots of our musical heritage.
