Again, really struggling with figuring out where I belong. Though I've lived here for 3 years, just now trying to join the Neighborhood associations. I found out that I fall into ORCA area...what is the difference in boundaries between ORCA and EKNA? Thanks so much.

This should help:

In addition to the map, note that if you click on one of the areas a written description of the boundaries will pop up.

This reminds me...
when are we finally going to have our own little Falkland Islands - style war over who owns that little triangle of land that both EKNA and FNA claim?

I know they're usually all diplomatic about it and work jointly when it comes to zoning and projects in that area. Frankly, it's disappointing to those of us hoping for an all-out bloodbath.

What do you think all those booms have really been about the past week or so.

Yeah, still not really sure why EKNA is involved, seeing as this is on the east side of Frankford.

ORCA isn't going to give residents full membership after the takeover, though. It's going to be more like American Samoa.

I couldn't be there, or I would have voted against it. The last thing my diet needs is an extremely awesome ice cream parlor one block from my house.

I hope the place actually stays open. The past 2 ice cream places that have been opened around here tanked. Crossing my fingers.

I think this place will be better funded, better advertised, and have broader appeal than the other 2 places. That said, it's also in a location that has a lot of foot traffic, but not necessarily of its target demographic.
So, the best advice is go buy some of their ice cream if you want them to stay open. smiley

They have also done a great job building a reputation by bringing their ice cream cart out all over the city. I can see people from other neighborhoods coming to buy ice cream. And they sell tubs that you can take home, so that opens up a whole new revenue stream that the other ice cream places didn't use.

codergrrl's picture

Oh no, take home tubs? My heart attack was just rescheduled a few months sooner.

Someone posted their menu on Facebook. I don't eat ice cream, but I might start.
