This is definitely worth going to. You'll learn how to be a much better witness when reporting tips to the police.

I can't make Thursday meetings. Possible to post information on have someone film it?

Neilpuck's picture

We'll have plenty more trainings going forward and we'll be sure to rotate nights to make it easier for more people to attend. If there are handouts, we'll post them for download. A lot of the schedule will be based on demand. So if we know we can get 20-30 people, we'll schedule one. Thanks for your interest!

Be there 8)

BUMP - we need at least ten attendees for this to be a go.

I'm out of town, again :(

Please Neil, I swear I am not avoiding RWCW events. I SWEAR.

Kenzo's picture

I suspect jbette is playing community-event-Twister by moving her out of town trips over neighborhood functions as soon as they're announced.

People, am I wrong?

sdm's picture

She does seem to be out of town pretty often when there are other things being planned. I can't imagine she's just that popular.

Is she a traveling salesman?

I actually was a traveling salesperson for five years until April. Now I drive to Valley Forge e'ry day. I think I may envy your trolley coder.

The real question is, why isn't neil consulting MY schedule? Actually he is probably happy I am not there... Sometimes I think zoning would prefer I get lost.

Maybe he thinks your ears work the same range as your voice carries.
(please see other comment, I'm being nasty today.)

It's jbette's world, we're all just living in it.

I did not take that as nasty at all, no worries. Fact: I'm loud. I sincerely try to tone it down, I just fail miserably.

My whole house is loud. I'm the quietest one, believe it or not. My grandson has a hearing impairment, his mother went to too many rock concerts, and my dad has bilateral hearing aids. Every day I live in fear of the post about the house on Belgrade Street where people are screaming at each other all day long, into the night. This is above our normal Fishtown added decibels.

I have not yet begun to question her loyalty. But patience is wearing thin. I'm expecting all of you fools to be there. If not, we'll start recruiting you to serve on a committee. A fate worse than....a Point Breeze Zoning meeting.

On the serious side, for everyone who complains about the crime in this neighborhood, this is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. Even in the best of neighborhoods it's up to the residents to be on the lookout, doing what they can to create a safer neighborhood. This only works if we all work together to pitch in. I promise it will take less time and effort than to tilt back a personal; 12 pack at any of the local watering holes.

I have put in my calendar.

Jordan needs to contact AOH and get some folks out.

Business trip for me. Maybe next time.

Leo's picture

In.

Neilpuck's picture

Only a few more bumps.

Last Call. This is tonight. If you think you know how to see and spot crime, you'll be surprised. Tonight you'll learn things that you had no idea were so important to creating a safer community. It's only a couple of hours, and you will probably make it out in plenty of time to make it to quizzo or your other Thursday night social functions. This is important people, don't put it off.

See you tonight!

Austen is bringing banana bread!

BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP

I postponed my Act 90 Tour to next month (the WebEx was to be tonight). I will be at E&E Training.

Townwatch Integrated Services (run by the City) will be running this training. I've attended the session before in Mayfair for their Patrol training; it's really good. ALSO YOU CAN ASK ANY QUESTION ABOUT POLICE SERVICE AND RESPONSE AND GET INSIDER INFORMATION INTO HOW THINGS WORK INSIDE PPD.

I have heard a lot from residents in civic meetings complaining about police service and response. In Townwatch Training you will learn how to get your calls escalated to get better service and response times, and you'll get to see how the 9-1-1 center prioritizes your calls and there are tricks for getting your priority raised.

Want to learn more? Fishtown Rec Center TONIGHT 6:30PM

The bread - it has nuts in it. Much like many other things. :-)

Yes - please do come out for this tonight!

I'm very disappointed that I won't be able to make this. Will there be any others in the future?

austen's picture

Yes! There will absolutely be sessions in the future.

semi's picture

That's great to hear, thanks!

Pretty good turnout. Anywhere Kenzo, Austen, and HAZMAT are in one room is always a good time.

Catphilly's picture

Sorry that I didn't get to meet Kenzo, Austen and HAZMAT. I was the girl in the back asking all the questions :)

Neilpuck's picture

Good turnout, and the conversation yielded huge amounts of additional information. Thanks to all who came out! I hope you found it as informative as I did.

I was the loudmouth talking at the beginning. :)

HAZMAT's picture

Great meeting very informative, please keep me up to date on future meetings !

Kenzo's picture

It was awesome we got some Norris Square folks out too

austen's picture

I was the girl in the front who made the bananna bread.
