Hopefully a lot of folks turn out tonight. However, would help if RWCW.org's own website was updated with the same info. Nothing new on that since late April, early May.
Yeah it was pretty good. Mostly neighbors came out. One spastic in-duh-vidiual neighbor had a ****-fit that we were there. Which is quite funny because if you're having a ****-fit over townwatch being on your block, you're kind of pointing yourself out like a sore thumb that YOU are the problem.
CBS3 needed a comment about yet-another ATV crash caused by a kid so they stopped by while we were town-watchin', and I think some of the corner folks interpreted that I was putting them on TV so up went the cellphones to the ears.
Oh and we had some middle-fingers shot at us by the same bunch. All-in-all it was great. Obviously the blocks around there need more attention [not like they're being watched more often by the 26th than any other area in Fishtown, given that cray-cray stuff seems to occur more frequently there... like B/Es].

So question -- after a couple of these, are Fridays good nights? Any possibility for week night stuff?
The gathering was very effective, thanks to all who came out. Over the course of the night 20-30 people came to meet and chat. We talked about what it takes to continue the trend of making a safer neighborhood, and how even a small contribution can make a difference.
We were chased off of one corner by an unruly resident, so we moved to the opposite corner. He eyeballed us for the rest of our visit. I'm sure they thought the TV crew was there to do a story on the corner.
On our way out, that same resident gave me the one finger salute. I chose to keep walking and not make a scene. But, now they know someone is watching. Please go to our website and sign up for emails as we'll be distributing information on crime stats and tips on how to resist crime and report.
Your participation is key. I promise you can do it without having to invest a lot of time.
We will explore an alternate night to host these. It's challenging to work around the schedule of all the civics and other events going on but we'll do our best.
Look for the next locaion in July to be held in EKNA territory, and then August is the National Night Out and we'll be holding it at Hetzells Field.

I guess the locals do not like the town watch people getting in their faces with TV cameras. How about some police watch.
