just go to the one at norris and frankford. yes, you have to interact with real people which is kind of a bummer but its easily the closest and at least from walking past them twice on most weekdays the guys who work there seem nice.
i would love to have a sheetz car wash around. for whatever reason the one i goto when visiting parents is about the only automatic car wash to actually get my car clean.

I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a Sheetz with a car wash, but hell, I'd take one around here with or without it. Show these WaWa folks the correct way to MTO.
who washes their car? it just rained, that's good enough.
I was in a rush on Saturday afternoon and really wanted to get one done with cold, calculating, machine efficiency in a minimal amount of time. But then I just gave up and decided to wait for the rain, which worked.
ive only seen one sheetz with a car wash, and it was a brand new one built within the last couple years. there is another one that is only about 5 years old, if that, and it doesnt have one. maybe its just space requirements that kept the other from having one, but i doubt it. its a huge sheetz (arent they all?)

Ooooh... don't go there! I'll be the first to admit that Sheetz is the 2nd best chain out there. But to use them to dis Wawa...them's fightin' words. [insert head bobs & finger wags as appropriate]

ok, you've got my interest piqued: what is the best chain out there?

WaWa - although I give Sheetz a pretty strong second.
If there are any other chains that come close to those two, I haven't encountered them.
(to be honest - I think WaWa might benefit from adopting some of the Sheetz MTO approach, but I wouldn't want them to sacrifice their current hoagie-making operation in any way to do it)

Don't be scared of the Mad Max look of the place. I've been a few times to get the Hyundo washed. The basic wash is $5, they do a pretty good job, and the guys that work there are friendly.
is it 8th and spring garden, thought it was up more toward 12th. that place is awesome. you get to stand inside and watch it go through, which is always a treat if you have a little one with you, or are easily amused. then when it comes out, and I think the car might still be rolling, about 10 guys come out and do the inside in about 45 seconds. it's pretty amazing.

11th and Spring Garden, it's called the Hand Wash & Lube. Best car wash in the city. On weekend mornings the line stretches several blocks down Spring Garden St.

Don't make the mistake of asking them to clean the interior. I cleaned all of the crap out of my car and paid them something like $25 to clean the inside. I swear that I got it back in worse shape. Didn't look like they used a vacuum and the inside glass looked worse than when I clean it, which is a pretty impossible feat. I told the manager I might as well have done it myself and he said, "Bring it back...I'll make sure you're taken care of next time."
I said, "Uh, you're here now and it looks bad so why would I bring it back?" Customer service can sometimes be unbelievable.
Anyway, I've always been intrigued to try the place at 11th & Spring Garden--wonder if I will do so before, as my mom says, my car gets to looking better dirty than clean.
Car washing is something I usually did over in Cherry Hill--on whatever that road is that connects Wegmans to Cherry Hill Mall. There's like 5 places over there and they are all around $5-6 for a basic wash. Now here in the burbs of Germantown, I've actually washed my car twice in my own driveway--while I was pregnant though so I think the rain may have actually been a better cleaner.

It's a really good wash and the price for an oil change/car wash isn't bad -- around 30 bucks?

I havent ever had any problem there. I have to get my car cleaned before my boss travels with me, so I would say I've been there a dozen times. Exterior plus interior vacuum and wipe down is only $12. I have the heavy duty plastic mats in my car, and they always take them out and spray them down.

Yes this one is still active. When you pay for gas with credit/debit @ the pump it always asks if you want to add a car wash for something like $2.99.
