I want to go to church on Sundays but I don't have anyone to go with (wife is Quaker). Would anyone be interested in starting up an informal group of people to attend Catholic mass? I feel so weird being all by myself, but I miss going to church. I liked the service at Holy Name.

I imagine there are many here
I imagine there are many here who already attend Catholic mass. Which parish are you in?

As a Catholic, I prefer to go
As a Catholic, I prefer to go to Christ Church because no one there is a bigot. But have fun supporting hate in the name of Christ.

The members of Holy Name are a very welcoming group and would be really glad to have you come worship with them Jordan.

What if my brother and his boyfriend came to your Church wanting to get married, how welcoming would you be then?

As a lapsed catholic, I can
As a lapsed catholic, I can be found skateboarding or fixing on my house most Sundays. I always wind up on my knees saying "oh, god, please," but I'm usually alone and being facetious.

Jordan, if you really want to
Jordan, if you really want to attend mass at Holy Name, I will go with you. I am a lapsed Catholic and this might just give me the push that I need. Let me know.

sdm - My response was directed to a question from Jordan. Whatever your issues are with the catholic church have nothing to do with me. I respect everyones right to chose both their lifestyle and their beliefs. As for how I would personally react to your brother and his boyfriend getting married - I would say congratulations and sincerely wish them well.

Your outrage might be better directed at the Catholic Church for its stand on homosexual marriage instead of fellow Catholics who share your beliefs but attend neighborhood churches.
