I think you might need to delete your account and create a new user ID. I went into "my account" and edit and I did not see the option to change the user name. Dan - am I missing something?

Nope.
Users can't change their own username.
That's intentional to help prevent abuse.

Just log out of your account
Just log out of your account and create a new account. You will stop showing up under your name.
