NLNA Town Watch Security Camera Workshop - Moved to Jan 24

Here's the details on the crime camera workshop:

Also note the PPD encourages cameras to be registered with the police department. This not only helps you out when you have an incident within view of the camera, but it helps out EVERYONE because your footage can be of assistance to East Detectives when they are looking for suspects that may pass in view of your camera, even though your property is not involved in any incident.

I know. I have my own contractor doing mine, but I definitely want to go to this. The options available seem just as complex as choosing to buy a computer or to build one yourself. There's advantages/disadvantages to both.

One thing that IS pretty common is that HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE will give you a premium discount for surveillance systems just like they do for an alarm system. Call your insurer and ask them how much they will knock off your annual premium for getting a system installed and how long it takes for you to get a rebate check from the insurance company after you report that the system is installed.

I wish our city could have the police response they have there!
I also wish she didn't sound like she was more disturbed by the fact that the man in her house was black than by the fact that he was a criminal.
But still, good publicity for security cameras.

We are one of those "just renters people.. " but we care about where we live. Be it for a year or longer. And this is something we most certainly can take with us. So, unfortunately we don't have homeowners. I wonder if renters would be any cheper after we install...

Hah. If you're renting u can still put in an alarm system. The sensors they make nowadays all use stick-ums adhesives and they're wireless.

Post your block so we can shower you with realtors. There's so many of them around I'm sure they can even bring you coffee and take your paper inside for ya.

Well last night what was on full display was how fast the PPD can respond when it has a lot of resources allocated to something: pretty da*n fast.
