Offered off street parking by another organization to not oppose 28 low income housing units being built on my block

yes...It was the front and Norris. I still am so disgusted. How can you come into my house, offer me a petty bribe? And despite the petty bribe, spout garbage about how my property value won't be adversely affected and refuse to provide documented proof that it won't. I don't want to hear stories when it comes to my $. She became down right nasty to me in my own house, in front of my child!! She said Pat would allow us to park in some parking lot, that is filthy, has dead cats that smell in the summer and was used for the film Dead Man Down last week that kept us up all night, and only charge me $10 a month. Gee thanks...

And in exchange for being allowed to rent a vacant lot next to my house I am supposed to not complain when they build 28 houses for woman and children and a community center, on my small street with increased traffic on a very small block, where we have no means other than our on hands to pick up trash that we currently get, and if they continue to bully their way and do what they want, we will have to stop having a play street where we offer lunch, be surrounded by a youth organization that plays loud music and throws parties right behind my house in that same filthy parking lot without getting a permit or even notifying the neighborhood, a community center accross the street and that traffic, plus now on on my street right next to my house a second community center?? WTH? ugh... I am so so disgusted. I feel like I have just been bullied and disrespected in my own house...

jeez...they have some big $ investors behind them then cause she said they are going to rehap the place at 4th and masters, after I said what poor condition that place was in. She claimed those homes increased in value because of WCRP and the neighbors loved them!! Love to see that study...please!!

it was made evident how little they care about the effect on my quality of life and the value of my house by the way I was treated in my own home. but those tax dollars are my tax dollars, and yours, and in reality, we as citizens can effect how they are spent. private money is harder to dictate, but public funds are for the use of the public, not for private investors...if they want support, they need to not harm us. I am not into being beat up and robbed, without at least filing a police report and the way I was treated in my own home today, means that they must not understand the laws that protect us from this kind of treatment.

I am really just ed at being harassed, but guess that how they treat people. What federal grant money is supporting them because indirectly, if that federal program is supporting WCRP and Pat DeCarlo and allowing them to enter into my home and abuse me. As such, that federal progams funding needs to be held accountable.

It's disgusting use of public funds, trying to bribe people especially as we are the very people, low income women and children WCRP is 'supposedly trying to help'' by bullying us and telling us what they are going to do to our homes. I am beginning to think they are nothing more than slumlords, victimizing poor vunerable women for profit.

If they really cared about us, they would help create a green space, covert the abandoned lots for parking and play areas, gardens, help us rehab the vacant houses on our block that support crime with criminals and junkies who hide in these houses and have robbed us at night. They would support our rec center in our cleaning initiatives, and street cleaning efforts. The would help us create eyes and ears for safety on our street and help us get rid of the drunks and junkies and the prosistutes who still try to hang out here. Not just cram 28 more vunerable families with very little resources onto our block, and not have any concern about how we will all survive. They just want to spout some unsubstantiated nonsense, tell me I have no say in how my house and street can be affected by them, and ignore basic city rules of development, while using my tax dollars to devalue and displace me, not to mention exploit my poverty...I better go to bed, I still am disgusted at how rude and disrespe l that woman was in my very own house that I struggle to own every day.

just read who is on WCRP board and that WCRP was a supporter of land trusts in Philadelphia during the Street regime and the bank is a land trust owned by Norris Sq...maybe that's why Nora from WCRP felt free to be rude and hostile to me while standing in my house.

Once again I will have to ask my block captain to organize a block clean up and it will be the mothers, grandma's and small children who live on my block, cleaning up after the slumlandlords trash piles.

Today someone who claimed to be from Norris sq was piling trash up by the building purchased by WCRP, and when I asked to explain what he was doing because we've had to deal with people breaking in and hiding in abandonded building and then popping out and robbing us at gunpoint at night, he very nastily said that there was nothing I could do to stop him and that sometimes I needed to just accept being robbed because I couldn't stop everything...

I just called the police and I am going to let them deal with this random stranger who thinks I should not try to prevent crime where I live...

And of course he left bags and bags of trash out in the open for us old women to have to clean up or live with the roaches and rats his garbage will bring...

while any pests are expensive and time consuming to exterminiate, be it ants, roaches, rats..with the 50 large black garbage backs dumped on the abandonded lots on my block, we also will have to deal with any seepage into our public water system, and the smell of rotting garbage combined with the dead cats, and junkie trash, that is dumped over the fences on this dumped property.... public dumping creates a lot of issues and seems to encourage others to dump and we periodically have to organize street cleanups because as soon as someone adds a matteress to the garbage, the prostitutes use it for their activity.

I am so calling 311 to get them to help me clean this mess up...I lived with the rotting smell all last summer, this summer, I will throw the trash out myself...lol, anybody want to volunteer and come over and help us?? : )

If WCRP is looking for a different location, I hope it's in their own neighborhood of Northern Liberties...create a mixed income community and allow women and children the opportunity to utilize the already established resources that currently exists and actually create affordable housing in an area where there is NO affordable housing, instead of segregating all us impoverished folk into one neighborhood, essential forced creation of a ghetto of single moms and kids shoved into one place.

But don't count on it, I actually suspect WCRP is a front for their investors trying to make $ using tax free development projects. What nonprofit organization is concerned about what their 'investors' want in their developments, but Nora said that the low income housing had to have a community center in the facility because that's what her investors wanted??
