Parking Restrictions

Forums:

A lot of the streets just got 2 hour parking... how do residents like it and if I live on an unrestricted street, can I get a Residential Zone 10 Permit... as parking on my street has gotten even more difficult.
Also, 8am-2am seems a bit much... stricter than anywhere else in the city...

what streets have been zoned?

I was happy when they instituted it on Day St. a couple of years ago...even if enforcement was spotty at best. Definitely cut down on people just dumping their vehicles there all day.

Where I'm at now (6th and Catharine) it's absolutely necessary, especially on weekends. We don't get the South St. craziness here but there's still a lot of restaurant traffic, etc. PPA tickets here all the time, too.

I think the permit is a relatively cheap value (and a plus for your street) the vast majority of the time as long as the parking folks are actually enforcing it.

Going until 2am is really extreme....dumb really.

How so? Because the El only runs til 1230, cabs are hit or miss in Fishtown, so people are driving and staying at bars until they close? Makes sense to me.

Except the PPA has said they won't enforce that late. I think sometimes between 8-10 was the cut off. They also don't come out on Sundays.

I don't like the 5pm to 5am 2-hour parking on Shackamaxon under 95. That's prime overflow parking!
