Suggestions / Requests for the Website

Forums:

Because this is a "build from scratch" re-start, we have the option of trying new things and adding new things.
What are some suggestions / ideas /thoughts you have for the website?
(no promises / guarantees / timelines implied!)

One unfulfilled one from earlier is "a forum theme with less white space". I'm all for that, just having trouble finding it.

is it possibly to easily make the "new" on new posts a red color like before?

- the ability to choose whether you'd like posts to show up in ascending or descending order.

- the ability to edit your posts after they've been published.

thanks for all your work on this, dan. must've been a very frustrating series of days for you.

Also, I think its kind of silly that all the posts look like they are speech bubbles.

I'm not a fan of the "reply" function. I think "quote" and "multiquote" would be far more useful. But I am unsure whether this is possible, or if there's popular support for it.

any chance you can set the links to open in other tabs or windows? It seems silly to allow links to replace the site completely when clicked on.

yeah, that's all a matter of theme
I just have to find a good theme to handle a lot of these things.

the the artist briefly known as 'the like button'. Also, no required 'subject' for posts. It reminds me too much of work email.

Pet section? Or lost/found which includes pets, with the ability to see forum posted images in a gallery?
With maybe an ability to archive/mark/color/close out the ones who were able to get home ?

Can we pull in a feed from at least the lost/found craigslist or fishtown facebook using keywords?
( Would that be ok to suggest, I don't know if that's rude, it's not meant to be.)

(for example: port richmond, kensington, fishtown, northern liberties, girard, aramingo, frankford since people use those to mean this area...possibly others too, if anyone knows them - those are the ones I've found people use.)

You rock for handling this site Dan, we would be in super deep incommunicado without you. Thanks!

Is there a way to reverse/change how the comments are listed? As in, new posts first/at the top... not from last to first.

I was surprised of the change when I logged on.Have trouble with my cable, so have not been on for awhile.It is easier for me to read.I only have 20/20 for distance since my cataract operation.It looks great!

sorry, but it was superseded by recent posts 3, which was then renamed "recent posts" and replaces the original "recent posts".
