From the taproom's e-newsletter...

[Pittsburgh Transplant Happy Hour]
From the office of "Things-That-Are-Rarely-Celebrated-In-Philly" we bring you a happy hour for all Pittsburgh ex-pats and the people who tolerate them. Join us July 1 from 5-7 pm for beers from Penn Brewery, and (yep) Iron City. We'll serve up a Memphis Taproom 'Ode to a Primanti Brothers Sandwich' and John Rooney, our very own token Pittsburgh native will man the taps.

Rumors for $3 Irons and a kielbassa/taproom/primanti's hybrid sandwich creation... mmmm....

Went there last night.

Went there last night. Wherre was the Iron City? Didnt see any. A valiant effort on the Primanti sandwiches. The wife called them Gourmet Primanti sandwiches. They needed just a little tweaking but I was very impressed.

Yay this is tonite! Don't

Yay this is tonite! Don't forget!!

I guess I'll dig up some pirates gear...? Eh, I guess it doesn't matter, I am just going to get kielbassi all over it.

There's a vegetarian sandwich?

There is a vegetarian sandwich that I know of called the "wish sandwich".....it where you put 2 pieces of bread together and wish you could have some meat. NO offense to vegetarians. Im a vegetarian myself. I only eat pork, and chicken and beef. But not fish cause thats disgusting. How can you tell when fish goes bad? It smells like fish either way! "Hey, this smells like a dumpster, lets eat it!"
Peace, Love and METAL!!!!!

Dont forget, Slipknot at Tweeter on Aug 15th!

Agreed.

No doubt as an Eagles fan you feel about this...

...the same way as a Dolphins fan I feel about this

A pox on BOTH of them (not that the Jets have won anything since LBJ was president, anyway)

Just a warning, any type of celebrating Pittsburgh's sports teams could be a capital offense in Philadelphia.

Iron City and Primanti's.

Iron City and Primanti's. That takes me back.

I don't think you can compare the two. You mentioned that you couldn't eat a cheesteak every day, but I don't think people would want to eat Primanti's every day either.

Just a thought: I don't

Just a thought: I don't think you can compare a cheesesteak with a primanti's. It's not apples to apples. You wouldn't compare a gyro with a pork bbq sandwich would you? They are two completely different things! Bottom line, if you are a true fat kid (like myself), you eat it ALL!!

What's wrong with Velveeta on Wonder Bread? It's better than that grilled Vegetarian sandwich at JB's now.

Velveeta can be used instead of caulk.

I've been eating the kielbasa with kraut and a big side of bacon-stuffed potato salad we have on the menu. There's a vegetarian sandwich?
