Fishtown Airways - Artist's Market and Co-op Grand Opening

This Friday is First Friday again and there is a new place to visit to see works by local artists in Fishtown. Please join us for the Grand Opening of Fishtown Airways - Artist's Market and Co-op on Friday, September 4th located at 200 Girard Avenue on the corner of Girard and Shackamaxon, next door to Murph's Bar.

Festivities begin at 6PM. There will be live music, prizes to giveaway, food, contests, events and fun for all! Items on display and for sale include clothing, paintings, jewelry, photography, gifts, sculptures, accessories, aprons, fun stuff and beautiful gifts and more...

Fishtown Airways will be open Monday through Sunday from noon to 8PM and is operated and stocked by local artists.

The owner, to my understanding, is in bankruptcy. Many of his properties are being sold--I'm not sure how that affects that one and what type of bankruptcy. It would be nice to see something open there again.

They had some great stuff. I think (if I remember correctly) about 20 artists were involved. I will definitely continue to check them out.

Looked like a great turnout. I was working across the street at JB's but that was easily the biggest crowd I've seen over there for a showing. Keep up the good work!
