I got a seasonal flu shot at
I got a seasonal flu shot at the office as usual--we can get them free if we want them (company pays that is). We were told that none of us were high risk, therefore don't expect to get H1N1 vaccine at all. I think the whole office was exposed to H1N1 back in the spring anyway, or maybe to an old version of it. My own doctor ran out of the H1N1 shots very fast and doesn't expect to get more either.

If my memory serves me correctly the 1918 flu panademic is believed to be the ancestor of all current flus.I believe scientists attributed the panademic to a strain that was caused by exotic birds yet all these years later there are no substanial answers only educated guesses.The remarkable part of this panademic is that it appears people who were born in the late 1800s' seem to have built anti-bodys which protected them from the flu .This protection could have been produced from another flu during that era.The 1918 episode began in the spring as opposed to other strains that appear in colder months.I believe Philadelphia was one of the hardest hit cities with one of the highest death rates in 1919.This took place around August/September yet by November of that year the flu had just about completly disappeared.
My friend was encouraged by his doctor to get a flu shot yet I was told by my doctor that most people born before 1975 will not require a flu shot because their bodies have built up an immunity to the flu strain.My sons' chiropractor strongly discouraged him from getting a flu shot.I don't know who is right or who is wrong as I feel that it is an individual choice.I empathize with parents of small children because these flu vaccinations are a judgement call in that if you have your child immunized or if you decide against shots and something bad
happens to your child due to either decision a parent would never forgive theirselves for the effect their decision had on their child.I have never had any type of flu vaccination.My decision was based on the related deaths in previous years caused by flu shots so after reading both the pros&cons of the H1N1 vaccination I have decided not to get a vaccination.

H1N1 has been around for years. The 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a strain of H1N1.
The outbreak of Swine Flu (H1N1) which has led the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare the highest possible level of pandemic awareness - Level 6 - began in Mexico City - right near a Baxter Labs facility which was working on experimental flu vaccine. This might be no more than a coincidence were it not for the fact that on August 28, 2008, Baxter Labs filed for a patent (# US20090060950A1) on H1N1 virus - almost a full year before this outbreak occurred or H1N1 had ever been heard of!
Ironic that a law has been passed giving government and vaccine producers immunity........hmmm,makes me wonder

You bother because the strains it covers are ones that you are much more likely to get.
It's kind of like saying, "Why buy flood insurance, when you could lose your stuff to an invasion of monkeys?" It would be pretty foolish for the average person living in a low-lying house along the Delaware River to buy "Invasion of Monkeys" insurance, but flood nsurance would be pretty reasonable for that homeowner to have.

The pharma companies who researched and produced this vaccine did not do it to help people. They did it to make money. I'm pretty sure this money would have come from government subsidies, which means we're all paying for it.

Ummmm...H1N1 vaccines are being distributed for free, as far as I know.
