Brick Facade Cleaning
I'm doing some work on the front facade of my house and need to get the brick cleaned. Any contractor recommendations?

Would you mind sharing the cost? How many floors? I have several friends looking to have it done.
Not at all. It was 4k for everything, oh and I should mention that for that price,I had a new cement (or some kind of non-wood , waterproof composite.) header installed in my back yard breezeway as well as having the entire breezeway wall and ceiling wired plus two coats of stucco from front to back. So it was more than just a powerwash and a re-point. I had gotten other quotes for even less work than they did, and most of them STARTED at 5k. So I think I got a pretty good deal for the amount of work involved.
I have a three story rowhome.

Re: Bill Dolan, I used him--not to powerwash. Heard it was bad for structural brick and besides, I like the old look--but instead for pointing. Recommended him to clients and they ended up having to sue him to finish the work. He didn't show up to court...but eventually he did show up and finish the work and gave them some money back.
So while once he was good, something clearly happened...and from the sounds of you guys, something is still happening.

I just had Higgin's Cement on Front. St. do my spot. Re point, powerwash, stucco-d up some holes, new downspout..Looks great. Fair quote, actually followed up on my inquiries, showed up when they said they would. (more rare than you might think).

Does anyone know what happened to Bill Dolan?
After giving him a deposit back in October last year for a major pointing and repair contract, his crew stripped the facade of my house and disappeared leaving exposed wood and gaps in the masonry, window sills and lintels.
He replied to my emails several times saying he was going to show up and continue working however he never did and he has not returned my calls.

I LOVE the job my brickman
I LOVE the job my brickman did on my house. He also did the yellow house that neilpuck mentions if it's the one on Oxford st. I am on the corner of Thompson & Oxford if you want to check out his work. My house used to be covered in the silicone based red paint that the city gave out years ago. He removed it and power washed the bricks. He also pointed and faux painted new bricks to match existing bricks. If that weren't enough he replaced damaged footers and headers, faux painting them to match the remaining marble headers and footers. I can't sing his praises enough.
