Heads Up about an attempted mugging on Cumberland St

PattiMey's picture

Three nights ago on Cumberland St right above Memphis St 3 young men tried robbing a friend of mine. They punched him hard enough to blacken his eye. I am sorry this happened to him but I am glad to say they got NOTHING from him. The police were notified but they still have not found the creeps. Just be careful everyone. These things seem to happen more around the holidays.

the tow, needing cash, and feigned familiarity with the victims (you) sound like this guy's MO who preys Northern Liberties .
a lot of residents were complaining about his attempts, one even got the cops to come, but nothing came of it.

It's just not the Fishtown.US I remember anymore. :)

I guess you are trying to bring back those "fun and intelligent" threads that everyone misses so much.

Watch out Dan. The moderator may ban you for race baiting.

By the way, is that where you've been? Banned for inflammatory posts?

Thank you. Jay was walking towards Tulip St. He had just returned from work as a busboy in the NE . It was after midnight. The 3 tried to get him to hand over wallet but he said he worked too hard to give it up without a fight. Scary, but it worked out in his favor.

It's good that they backed off when he said this, but unfortunately i've seen it happen way too often where someone fought for their money and wound up paying for it with their life or other serious injury that cost a lot more to fix than the money they fought for. When I interview people at work I always tell them that it was probably best for them to give up their money rather than risk their lives for it...

Maybe he didn't have cable.

I think he didn't have a lot of things - cable TV being the least of them.
