The Philadelphia Health Corps is pleased to announce the New Orleans Love Concert Fundraiser. The event will be held on Friday, April 27th at the Marathon Grill (20th and Market Streets). Doors open at 8pm. Scheduled to appear are Adam Monaco, The Jesse Schurr Band, Dirk Quinn, Dan Kalai, and Cabin Dogs. Check out their MySpace pages. Get ready for a funky, folky, sweet, soulful, groovy, jazzy, jammish kind of night. Dancing and head bopping will be in order. And many thanks to the bands, as they'll be donating their time to perform.

Tickets are just $10 and include complimentary hors d'oeuvres! Oodles of prizes will be raffled off at just $1 a chance. On top of that, local artists and craftspeople will be showing their work and having some for sale.

All proceeds from the ticket and raffle sales will benefit the Philadelphia Health Corps’ 2007 New Orleans Relief Trip. Last year, we went to New Orleans to help clean up the destruction left behind by Hurricane Katrina. Check out our photo journal.

As you know, however, much more needs to be done. So, this year we’re going down to help rebuild the homes and the lives of those who lost so much.

We had about 150 people and raised a tad over $2,000! Poor DNA felt like a chaperone (as did I), but it was a good time. The music was actually quite good. Thanks DNA, Nolalover, Jeffro, and friend for participating!

We'll be certain to share our experience when we get back.

Awesome! I'll keep an eye out for you. The Marathon is on the north side of Market Street in the Commerce Square courtyard. We'll have directional signs up.

Tickets are now available! Send me a PM if you'd like to purchase one, two, or a whole bunch! $10 each. You can't beat it.

In addition to the great music, we already have raffle prizes from the Manayunk Diner, Johnny Manana's Mexican Restaurant, Spa East, Elixir Cafe, and The Abbaye.
