Weird hotel flyer

zempf's picture

So we got a flyer in our mailslot yesterday (with some crappy grammar & awful spelling) with info about a proposed hotel where Beer City is now. Anyone else get that? What's that all about?

Oh, it's this thread again! I'm pretty sure we're out of the woods on the 17 story hotel--the plan was overwhelmingly rejected by those who attended the zoning meeting.

BTW, please don't post links to female escort sites (it's been removed).

If the hotel doesn't do well

If the hotel doesn't do well it'll either fold under and close or start to cater to anyone looking for rooms it's up in the air and no one can say for sure until it opens how it'll do i doubt there will be female escorts all over the place because of it though.

please keep casino

Comparing the vacant, dilapidated riverfront to the corner of Berks and Girard?

Apples and Oranges, Snailgem.

Nice try

Within weeks of opening this thing would be a haven to hookers and partying teens. It would be just like the dive hotels on the roosevelt blvd. Buy the way I don't know that about the blvd hotels by expeience. Someone told me about it. :)

this can be addressed by requiring the developer to set aside money for increased police presence in that area.

I have seen problems like this occur because there in no demand for hotels in certain areas. At least not enough to make them viable so they desperate for business start renting to whoever comes in. I have heard of many teens and young adults renting rooms in the hotel near the ben franklin bridge just to party. This hotel is not neatly selling out so is another low price hotel nearby help ot just devide the business between the two and make them even more desperate to rent rooms? I think the logic here is that there will be business to be made off the casinos if they come but I doubt that will happen. Do they think people will fly in like vegas or even A.C. I don't think so because here we will be limited to slots where the other's have multiple games.

i think is has a lot of potential combined with the casinos - we can have like an Entertainment Corridor - COOL. instead of the dry cleaner there can be a check cashing place right next to the hotel for convenience.
have you seen their plans? Take a look - it's GOING TO BE nice. Things for families to do as well like go for a spin with your kids on the revolving top of the hotel.

wouldn't you rather have a hotel instead of a crappy beer store in an ugly lot? and the construction is going to bring much-needed jobs to the area.

so who's going to develop something worthwhile there? are we going to be stuck forever with a seedy beer store and a dry cleaners in a filthy, broken up lot?

BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!! Cosmo, I think snailgem is totally kidding. Snailgem, you are hilarious.

Beer, cigs, and coffee without ever leaving the place!
And a revolving view of I95, and East Kenzo, for those special evenings...
